History of Radhakrishna / J.K. Temple

The idea for Shri Radhakrishna Temple germinated in the dream of Ram Pyari Devi, wife of Lala Kamlapat Singhania. It’s said that one night, Lord Krishna appeared in her dream and blessed her. She took this as a divine sign to build a grand Krishna temple.

Its construction began under the patronage of the Singhania family in the early 1940s. This land belonged to the JK Trust, created by this family itself. Thus, when the temple was inaugurated in 1960, it was named after the trust.

Unlike ancient temples rooted in centuries of tradition, JK Temple Kanpur is a relatively modern structure. But its spiritual ambiance has quickly made it a revered spot in the region.
